Bill Belichick isn’t coaching this season, but he’s staying around the game.
The former New England Patriots head coach has partnered with gaming company Underdog Fantasy to launch his own football show. The weekly show, which will air on YouTube and debut before the NFL season on the Underdog media network, will be the first original program created and hosted by the six-time Super Bowl champion. The show will aim to provide fans with a look into the Hall of Fame coach’s mind while he breaks down game situations as if he were in charge.
“I want to find a connection to the fans where I give the fans what they’ve asked me for in terms of content—behind-the-scenes information, decision-making that goes on within the organization, and a breakdown of schematics and personnel within the game, bring all this real football conversation and decisions to the fans,” he said in a promotional video. “Underdog wants to do that, and I want to do that, so it was a great fit.”
Belichick has pivoted to media endeavors since departing from the Patriots earlier this year after 24 seasons. Back in April, he joined the The Pat McAfee Show for its draft coverage and is set to make weekly appearances on it. In addition, he has signed with Omaha Productions/ESPN to make frequent appearances on the Manningcast for Monday Night Football and will also serve as a studio analyst for The CW’s Inside the NFL. He will join Ryan Clark, Chad Johnson and Chris Long on that show.
Belickick’s show is the latest to be added to the Underdog media network. It also includes Gil’s Arena, founded by former NBA star Gilbert Arenas, Sheed and Tyler, hosted by former NBA star Rasheed Wallace and Scheme with Colt McCoy and Jay Gruden.
